I was shooting the Mighty Boosh in the Odyssey for AU tonight so keep an eye out in the next issue for the pics (we were given a whole 5 mins to do photos and stuck about 20ft aay from the stage but it still went well) Such a strange show – stayed to watch some of it and by god are they mental!
Caught the train down to Dublin on Fri afternoon to cover the Comic Con. It was a brilliant weekend – the guys on the panels were hilarious and so talented yet so modest with it. Spent most of the 2 days snapping away so you can see the shots in the next issue of AU mag but here’s one sneaky preview of my favourite shot from the weekend – next year they need way more folk this brave!!
Open up the pages of the new issue of Hot Press and you’ll spy yours truly looking back at you (and its a rare occasion you see me on that side of a camera!) I’m well chuffed to be listed in the featured contributers section this fortnight right beneath Adele from Sons and Daughters, a band i love so that makes me even happier about it! Also have photos in from several gigs so go have a nosey… its the issue with Brian Cowen and Duke Special on the cover (vol 32 issue 22)
Also had a shot from the last Airbourne gig in the Belfast Telegraph with an interview by Edwin too (edwinmcfee.wordpress.com) – they’re back in Belfast next week so hoping for a repeat performance of Joel jumping off the stage and fighting his way through the crowd to pour himself a well deserved drink behind the bar!
In celebration of my love of all things spooky and all things rockabily I’m heading to a rockabilly night in McCrackens tonight – before that though its off to photograph the Lisburn Firework Display for the organizers so here’s one of my favourite shots from the evening – I’m so jealous of these kids’ costumes!
I decided to start a blog to keep everyone up to date with everything I’m doing and also to try and give myself a little bit of a challenge. The past couple of weeks have been crazy busy – been working for a lot of different places which is great as variety is the spice of life an all! My to do list is growing so sometime soon there will be an all new look website up for you to see. There’s a little website by Jason Evans I love called the daily nice and each day it shows a different photo which simply made him smile so from now on I’m going to try and upload a photo every day for you to see! I figure by taking a photo every day I can try and push myself to look differently at my every day life. The pics may be from jobs I do on that day, places I go, people I met or just something I spotted and liked the look of.
So to start with I give you the firebreather! I liked the simplicity of this shot so I thought why not start with it.
